Ruthman
Companies started as The Ruthman Machinery Co. in 1913 in
Cincinnati servicing the mechanical components of steamboats
that plied the Ohio River. The company founder, Alois Ruthman
was a man of vision and saw part of the future of the company
was in the development of a reliable industrial pump. In april
of 1924 he conceived the first vertical sealless centrifugal
pump. "We first considered naming the pump 'Geyser' however the
same day we decided to call it 'Gusher' as this sounded more
forceful." Alois Ruthman-Founder. Thus giving birth to the trade
name Gusher pumps and coining the term "coolant pump".
Wanting to carry on his father's tradition of quality and
reliability, Thomas R. Ruthman joined the company in 1949.
Thomas R. Ruthman's driven dedication to creating a world wide
presense has brought Ruthman companies to Europe in the 1980's
and Asia in the 1990's. He has expanded the companies' product
offering from the original centrifugal coolant pumps to include
Valves, positive displacement pumps, tube cutters and shimmy
dies, and other specialized equipment. If you ask him what he
does, however, he will tell you' "I am a farmer" Ruthman Farms
was developed by Thomas R. Ruthman in the 1980's and continues
to grow today.
In the
early 1990's Thomas R. Ruthman's son Thomas G. Ruthman joined
the company, continueing this same tradition. Maintaining the
reputation of the name Ruthman by innovation and customer
service the company continues to grow world wide.
Today the Ruthman Companies are a diversified group of
worldwide companies, which have a reputation for innovation,
high quality, and Sevice.
